Longbow / flatbow for pulling.

Hornbow for spiking and turretting.

Recurve bow as your main bow.

Crippling / poisonous. I don't bother with silencing as I usually run 13 Marksmanship, and BHA is quite managable.

except any respectable bow build has dshot, and u cant interrupt very well with a flatbow.

recurve bow for almost everything + vamp flatbow for kill the npcs that dont move faster = >9000 internets

As you can see opinion is divided, one thing is true there is no single right bow.

Sometimes you need long range other times its the fastest firing then again accuracy can be the important attribute.

I carry 4 bows in the weapon slots and have a couple more in the backpack.
This is because the bow isn't always as important as the type of damage.

I always have a flat and a recurve ready for use I also carry bows with zealous Vampiric Icy and Fiery strings.

I think present arsenal is
Zealous flatbow, Icy Recurve, Vampiric Shortbow, and my flashy showoff Stormbow because I love the skin.
Somewhere is the backpack is a Sundering hornbow and a fiery longbow, but I rarely use those.

For barrage i use flatbow, because of the fast refire rate and long distance, and i always got [Favorable Winds] with me, so they dont miss more than for example longbow.
For most other uses Recurve bow is the way to go.

Agreed, If you're using [[Favorable Winds] or [[Read the Wind] use a Flatbow. Just remember to not use [[Barrage] with Read the Wind or any other preparation. Most Rangers probably take at least 3 bows in their weapon slots anyway, why limit your options by carrying only one. If you HAD to choose just one, a Recurve is the best general purpose bow.

I use a Vampiric recursive bow ... Elswyth's Recurve Bow.

Is Vampiric a bad choice? One problem I've had so far is that I have to switch to my pulling bow (Zelnehlun's Longbow) in between fights.

Vamp is alright, but I would seriously consider some other mod on it. +33% *condition* is good.

Why "of course 15^50, +30hp"?

It all depends what you want to use it for.

Not really. More damage is better and you shouldn't need extra energy, and +30hp is basically defense against anything.

For my recurves I find the +5e inscription most helpful since these are interrupt/condition bows, the damage output is irrelevant.

Crippling/Poisonous +5e insc. +30HP are my two most-used recurves

Nope, 15^50 is more or less unconditional, because if you're under 50% health you're either about to die or about to get healed.

For PvE you probably just need a recurve bow for interrupting and and flatbow for barrage spamming. For PvP you need a recurve as your primary, a longbow to dink rits using binding rituals and dervs activating avatars at the start, a flatbow to attack archer NPC's and a shield set as your 4th weapon set.

15^50 is good for me, because I try to stay alive, idk about y'all...

and I prefer HP always, =)

My E-managment is never a problem, unless for some odd reason I bring a 1v1 Build to a place like the Eternal Grove

Alright thank you all for your tips!

Ivory bow is a Hornbow, not a recurve.

15/-10ar can be beneficial at certain times or with certain bows, but for most occurances, 15>50 is usually a better alternative.

Ditto for my PvP bows with the exception of Silencing. I have an elemental bow in that slot. I have Vampiric, Silencing, and Zealous for PvE bows as well.

Then a counterpart for each of these in Short, Long, and the 3 listed in Flatbow.

For any ranger, you should get poisonous, crippling, and silencing recurve bows (for crippling shot, apply poison, and broadhead arrow). They can either be +5 energy or 15^50, depending on preference, and hp+30.

Then you are going to want two flat bows. You will want one that is 15^50, vampiric, and hp+30 (for obtaining the highest DPS possible) and one that is the same except zealous (basically for barrage only).

Then you will want a shield swap for kiting and such. Basically you will want a spear, sword, or axe with +5 energy and hp+30 combined with a shield that reduces cripple and has hp+30.

If you ever plan on ranger spiking, you will want to make a vampiric hornbow of fortitude as well... although ranger spikes aren't very popular.

Default bows!

Hi

I need us to talk about BOWS! what bows to use and so on, downsides and upsides. I am currently almost ALWAYS running with a perfect (20/20 +30 15% above 50%) flatbow. (Currently Ironwing), which is customized.

But using a flatbow, gives me long range and good rapidness, but I always have to run with Read the wind, I mean read the wind is good, it also gives me +10 damage and my interrupts are instant. Instead of apply poison that all use, I use Poison Signet, I see people using recurve bows and therfore not using read the wind and such, making there arrows slower and they loose damage. But they get another slot.

I am now tinking of making a recurve bow to use instead, but.. Im not sure.. I loose damage, and RANGE, the range can be very nice, in FOW or AB and it does not hurt in other areas either.

So what are you thoughts?
